ISS Corporate Solutions Announces Appointment of Jun Frank to Lead North Asian Advisory Services

Veteran Governance Expert to Assist Companies in Building Shareholder Value Through Strong Governance Programs

New York, NY; April 30, 2014 – ISS Corporate Solutions, Inc., a leading provider of governance  tools and advisory services to help companies improve shareholder value and reduce risk, today announced the appointment of Jun Frank to lead its north Asian corporate advisory services, focusing primarily on companies in Japan and Korea.

Frank, a native Japanese speaker, previously headed Asia ex-Japan research for ISS Corporate Solutions’ parent company, Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS), where he oversaw proxy advisory services covering more than 5,000 companies in 14 markets. Prior to that, he served as director of Asian proxy research at a different proxy advisory firm where he managed corporate governance research on regional companies.

“As part of ISS’ long-term commitment to improving governance standards in Asia, a region currently in the midst of significant governance changes, ISS Corporate Solutions believes the time is right to expand product offerings to Japanese and Korean corporations,” said Mark Brockway, Head of ISS Corporate Solutions. “Jun is well placed to assist companies in meeting the rapidly-evolving information needs of both global and domestic institutional investors and, particularly, north Asian corporations for whom the governance landscape has shifted measurably.”

Frank, who in 2008 was named a “Rising Star of Corporate Governance” by the Millstein Center for Corporate Governance and Performance, will be based in new ISS Corporate Solutions offices located in Tokyo. He will work closely with clients to inform the development of next-generation products and services and will serve as a spokesman on issues related to Asian governance developments.

“2015 has been a pivotal year for corporate governance in Japan and Korea, spurring a need in both markets for expert governance advice,” said Frank. “Fundamentally, ISS Corporate Solutions’ work is designed to build and sustain value for company shareholders, with governance now playing a leading role in both across Asia. I look forward to working with companies in the region as they move to enhance their governance, reporting and transparency, and, ultimately, shareholder value.”

Frank holds a Master’s in Business Administration with concentrations in corporate finance and investments from the University of Notre Dame, graduating magna cum laude. He also holds a Bachelor’s of Arts from University of California at Berkeley.
